P90X3 completion of week 3

Travis and I completed 3 weeks of P90X3 today.  Aside from being really tired, I am really excited about P90X3 and know we can complete the 90 days!  Half an hour is so much better to start out with than a full hour while my body adjusts to the early morning schedule.

I'd like to finish the first program (P90X3) and then start P90X.  I have ordered Shakeology and am hoping it will help with my energy.  I've been eating better, but have the occasional crappy meal.  Shakeology is supposed to be a good meal replacement shake and give additional energy and nutrients.  I am hoping these claims to be true.

I'll check back in along the way once we've completed more of the workouts and once I have tried Shakeology!

So much for resting...

I ended up doing a nice walk/run today up 55th West!  My fitbit logged over 26 flights of stairs!
That was awesome!  I was a sweaty mess!!!!  Out of breath and feeling great!

When I got home, I took a detox bath.  Water as hot as I could stand with two cups of Epsom Salt and One Cup of Baking Soda.  Then soak for 20 mins.

This was causing my heart to race and I found it hard to last 20 mins.  The beat part was the cool shower after!  Very refreshing!

Got the workout info for the 30 Day Challenge plus add ons for tomorrow!  Gonna be insane!  I'll check back in tomorrow!

Meet Wilbur

Wilbur is my 6 month old English Bulldog!  He was born on the 4th of July!  He is AKC registered.

I took him to the vet this morning due to his extreme watery eyes, foul smelling skin folds in face and over-all follow up.

I trimmed his nails on my own yesterday and saved myself 16 dollars!  They said I did a good job and I will continue to clip his nails often.  The said his quik will get shorter the more often I trim his nails!  He has a long quik right now!

I was given two new prescriptions for his face and general itching/discomfort.  The first is a Tri-optic ointment to medicate his skin folds and prevent yeast growth.  This is obviously good for his ears too.

The other prescription is a long lasting one called Atopica which he will take most of his life to help calm his immune system and cause him not to "be allergic to himself."

I am also starting him on science diet Puppy dog food today to see how his skin is over the next 8 weeks!  Here we go!!!  Here's to a healthy English Bulldog!

Taking the morning off

Feeling a little weak this morning.  Still not 100% from the cold I had last week. So I am taking it easy for now!

Since yesterday, I have lost half a pound! Gotta keep dropping them!  Still have yet to meet my 10,000 steps a day goal.  Gonna aim for that today!  We shall see!!!!

Tuesday, January 14, 2014

This morning I cheated and weighed myself again.  It is hard not to!  I was 162.2, so I lost since yesterday which is awesome!

I just completed my morning workout today!  I decided to go with a fitness video from Jillian Michaels and worked out the back side of my body!  It was a good workout!!  I am all sweaty and it got my heart rate up for sure!!!!

Didn't push it as hard as I could have, but wanted to go throughout he DVD once first to see how the workout was and what it was all about!  Now, I am ready to kick it's butt next time!  Tomorrow I am back to my 6-Week Challenge with the Wii Active game.  I increased the intensity from beginner to intermediate, so I am hoping for a more challenging workout!  I need to push myself!

Well, I gotta get ready for another busy work day!

Aside from working out- Bagpipes!

My other goal is to be able to play ONE tune on the bagpipes all the way through by St Patrick's Day!  Tonight is rehearsal with Tehachapi Mountain Pipes and Drums!  I gotta get back on track!!!!

Getting on Track

Jan13th!  Here we go!  Here are my measurements:

Not as good as I had hoped, but my bodyfat went down quite a bit!  I did the six week challenge 5th workout today!

I was all geared up and ready to go:
I started with the six week workout number 5.  Results:

Then on to Zumba:
Over all it was a low key beginning workout.  It didn't push me as hard as I should have gone, but O eased back in and something is better than nothing!  I plan to sweat more before the week is up!  My goal for today's steps is over 10K!  I'll be measuring with my Fitbit!!!!  Let ya know how it goes!!!  Also, I am looking forward to seeing how my workout progress is next Tuesday!  Hoping to see the weight down and body fat down too!  That is my goal!  Even ONE pound and ONE percent would make me happy!!

I want to get to under 155 and a body fat under 30!  Let's make this happen!!!

This Week's Goals

Wii Zumba Join the Party

I did my first 20 minute Zumba routine through this Wii game the other day.  I was pleasantly surprised by how fun it was and how much of a workout I felt I was getting!  I felt warmed up by the end of the 20 minutes.  I had never done Zumba before and felt a bit uncoordinated, but overall had fun and caught up with the moves fairly well.  I am looking forward to doing this again!

Wii Fit Active and More Workouts

I am currently using Wii Active from EA Sports for part of my morning at home workouts!  These get me moving and sweating!  This is the one I am currently using and I am doing the beginner 6 week challenge.  My 6 Week Challenge runs through Feb 14th.  Then, I will either start the intermediate 6 week course, or move forward to Wii Active Sports 2.  I may try Active 2 out first to see if I want to go that route first.  I'll keep ya posted!

Happy New Year! Re-cap from Last Year and New Year Goals!

2014 is here and it is time to get moving!

Last year I accomplished my goal to quit smoking!  I am proud to no longer be a smoker and I feel better too!

In November, I began to eat better through a program called Beyond Diet.  You too can go there and check it out!  Beyond diet provides useful information for eating the right things and cutting out the foods and drinks that cause us to become fat and in pain.

Check out their site at: Beyond Diet

I was having a lot of pain in my neck, back and knees.  I began treatment with Allied Physical Medicine and Dr Shaver.  The treatments consisted of chiropractic adjustments (after initial x-rays were taken), trigger point injections, TENS unit therapy, massage (love that one), a wedge device called a Dakota for neck traction, and another device used to help align the lower back as well.  I have not yet completed my therapy... I still have another month or so to go.  Dr. Shaver encouraged me to get back into eating healthy and working out (including strength training).

I started going to 24-Hour fitness at 5:00AM for a week and began working out and doing the following routine:

Monday:          Cardio
Tuesday:          Full Body
Wednesday:     Back & Bicep
Thursday:        Chest & Tricep
Friday:             Lower Body

Unfortunately, I had some things come up at work that caused me to have to put the workouts on hold.  Then, at the end of the year, I started working out at home with my Wii!  I hate to admit it, but I am really enjoying several Wii games for working out (more on that in posts to come).

After Jan 1st I knew it was going to be quite difficult to get into the gym for a little while.  I have made myself a complete work out routine to start off with beginning tomorrow!

Here is a before Photo of Me:
It's a little scary to share this, but it will help keep me honest and motivated!  Don't LAUGH!

OK.  So, in the morning, I will take all body measurements including my weight and note these.  I will then do that every Tuesday thereafter.  I will keep this blog updated with my workout information as well as progress made and posts about new workouts, Etc.

I ordered the Brazilian Butt Lift Program from Beachbody and am waiting for it to arrive.  I am also waiting for my Wii U with my Wii Fit U Bundle to arrive also.  I will incorporate those workouts into my existing workouts.

Starting tomorrow, I will be continuing with my 6 Week Challenge through the Wii Active More Workouts game.  I will complete the 6 week challenge by Feb 14th!  I will also be incorporating other workouts from Zumba, Wii Fit, Treadmill and more throughout the next 90 Days.  After my 6 Week Challenge is Up, I may start the 6 week challenge over on a more intense level, or I may try Wii Active 2's fitness challenge.  My goal is to workout at home for awhile and let the New Year's Resolution craze die down before heading back to the gym!

Here's is what to expect in the days to come:  Daily information about my workouts, weekly updates on progress and measurements, reviews of programs I am using to workout and over all information.

Here's to a new year filled with motivation, will power, smart food choices, and commitment to good health!  Join me!
